Inspired by Kevin Shahinian's City of Lake, Kiva Sutton (Annandale Photography) and I have realized the new and unknown road to a whole new dimension that wedding films could be, and besides City of Lakes, it has never been journeyed on by anyone.

How far can you go by documenting an event? What more can you do, besides documenting what is happening? Can you push it even more? How? These are few questions we had to answer before we started.
The idea of combining a fully scripted film with a real wedding event struck us with such excitement, that it has become the motivation for our concept wedding film "Flash Forward".

However there were few things we had to keep in a mind at all the time no matter what.
First we had to keep the wedding the focal point of the story. There couldn't have been any derivation from the fact that this is a Nicole and John love story and not a fictional independent film. That meant that the couple must always be in the lead role of the film.
Second, we had to make sure we wouldn't get carry away with the scripted parts of the film and forget to include the actual wedding event.

Flash Forward being our first Hybrid film ever, we had no idea what to expect. We were constantly reminding our selves not to get upset or disappointed over certain details and take the whole experience as a learning lesson. We expected to make mistakes, and sure we did many. However, they are also our foundation for the future films to come.

Kiva and I have started with the development of the storyboards, that were constantly revised, even on the day of the shooting. We took one whole day to scout for all the filming location. After that, we dry-run the film so we knew exactly how long each scene would take.
After gathering all the equipment, actors, wardrobe, make up artists and securing all the locations, we schedule the entire filming of all the fictional scenes into one lovely Sunday. Due to our discipline planning of scenes, their order and overall timing, we have managed to execute all our scenes (besides the wedding) in a single day. 2 weeks later we documented the wedding for the last few scenes for the film.
